Based on Author’s own experiences studying wolves in the Canadian Arctic, this book is part fiction and part factual. It was a very enjoyable read and I had no idea that I had almost no idea about wolves.
Mr. Mowat do have a humorous way of telling serious things and I loved it.

Ok… This series is not impressing me as much as the first book.

Dina has to rescue her Sister Maud, who was married to a Vampire and is exiled to a forsaken planet. Along with Sean the werewolf, Arland the Vampire, Maud & her daughter is bought back to Dina’s Inn. Dina agrees to help a guest, a Hiru whose last chance at saving his civilization could bring Dina’s downfall.

I loved the Hiru part. Dina along with Sean, Arland and Maud has undertaken the saving job as always. There is lots going on in terms of different worlds and different species and some backstories. That made me feel a bit distracted. Too much information in too less pages.

As I said for the second book, its a good read. Liked it but not Loved it.

I was actually excited to read this one. Picked it up immediately as I finished the first one.
But it failed to meet my enthusiasm.

Dina agrees to host a peace summit between three species Vampires, Hope-Crushing Horde, and the merchants of Baha-char who are hell bent on what they want, destruction of the other species. Dina only focuses on keeping her guests from killing each other and we see a new side of her. She is real powerful.

It was more of fights, tricks and action scenes. And everything a bit rushed towards the end. But otherwise it was a good read.

Dina Demille is an Inn Keeper. A special Inn which is a resting place for special creatures like Vampires, Werewolves, Aliens and many more unimaginable. Dina possesses incredible powers in order to keep her guests safe. And she will go to any length or extreme to save her guests even from each other. Apart from that she has only one other mission in her life, that is to find her missing parents.

I liked the whole setting, world building and the sci-fi touch in this. Very strong female characters and a new interesting plot/genre/narration (for me) which caught my attention.

This book sang to me. I just loved it so much. I don’t know if it was the Audio Book or the story or both that went well for me. The intricate relationships, feelings that are talked about here are so real and felt so real that I could not stop hearing it.
I was especially drawn to Melissa who seems to be a bit like me( In certain areas). All the other characters seemed to surround her.

Story follows two black couples,
-Melissa and Michael, not Married, 2 kids, Mellissa Free lancing, home bound, Michael drifting away, the stress, the superstitions etc
-Damien and Stephanie, married, 3 kids, Stephanie an Iconic mom, Damian not satisfied with life, Damian’s dreams, his insecurities, Stephanie’s dominating nature, and again stress etc
The main thread here is challenges of marriage along with parenting and also hints of cultural impact on a human and racial differences too.

This seemed too real a book with it’s narration and too real plot with a hint of paranormal illusions towards the end (which i didn’t like much).
It missed a star because of the climax which was a bit vague not descriptive. I wanted to feel what they felt during some decisions that the characters made. I felt that was what it missed.
